4th August Paignton Championship Show, Bhali wins 1st Junior and his 4th Reserve Dog CC before 18 months old, Tallulah wins 1st in Yearling. In total, 4 classes were won by Elvis' progeny namely Nuthouse Manhatten who won 1st in Limit thus gaining his stud book number and also Jocebec Jelani Elite who won Post Graduate. The end of April saw us busy with Luca's second litter to Belgian dog Villagedogs HotTopic (Nelson). Three boys will be making their debut in the showring in the not too distant future:- Ally Muir's Arkle, Charlotte & Nick Houghton's Brodi and Linda & Ian Johnstone's Jacob. (Kev I will send photos to go in here on a separate email). Hence Summer 2010 has been very busy (and successful!) so below is a precis of our show results up to the end of July. Both Bhali & Tallulah gained their Junior Warrant titles - Bhali at 14 months old and Tallulah at 16 months old. We also had confirmation of excellent hip and elbow scores: Bhali's hip score 2:2 and Tallulah's 1:1. Elbows 0:0.

Southern Counties - A fantastic day for the Kiromol dogs. Bhali wins 1st in Junior Dog, Tallulah wins 1st in Junior bitch and her sister koko wins 2nd. Tallulah then goes on to win the Bitch CC! Thank you to Hound Judge Eleanour Bothwell. Three Counties - Bhali wins 1st in Junior Dog and his 3rd Reserve Dog CC under all rounder judge Mr Ben Reynolds Frost. The Hound Association of Scotland Championship Show - April 2010

Under breed specialist judge Mrs Gillian Mitchelson, Bhali wins 1st in Special Yearling Dog which gives him his final point for his Junior Warrant! Not only that, but he takes the Reserve Dog CC as well (which is his second) at just 13 months old! Not to be totally outshone, Tallulah then wins 1st in Junior Bitch. Bruce Wins 2nd in Limit Dog too, so a very worthwhile trip up t'north!

Dunstable & District Open Show - April 2010

Tallulah wins Junior, Bhali wins Post Graduate and Bruce wins Open under judge Russell Mosedale. Tallulah then wins Best of Breed and Bruce Reserve Best of Breed. Tallulah then takes 1st place in the Hound Group under well known judge Mrs Patricia Wells (Kortebin).

Bhali wins Junior, Tallulah second and Rogan third under breed specialist judge Helen Mansfield. Bhali then wins Best of Breed and Hound Group.

CRUFTS DOG SHOW - 12th March 2010

Bhali has his very final puppy class at the ultimate dog show, CRUFTS and wins 1st! To put the icing on the cake of his puppy career, he goes on to win BEST PUPPY IN BREED under breed specialist judge Mrs Julie Bates (Gunthwaite). It was such a fabulous day, one that us as Bhali's breeders and Lena (Bhali's owner) will never forget!

 

Hound Club of East Anglia Supermatch - 6th March 2010

A fantastic day in St Ives, Cambridge at the East Anglian Supermatch which raised funds for the Animal Health Trust, very dear to our hearts as the AHT did so much for Bubble last year. Bhali qualified for this contest by winning Best Puppy in Show at the Luton 3 day premier show in December last year. It was a knockout competition made up of rounds of two, until you are left with just 2 dogs, the first set were the puppies the second the adults. Bhali did extremely well winning his first two rounds then was knocked out by a very nice Leonberger. After the contest was a 4 course dinner and dancing until midnight. We all dressed for the occasion, even Bhali!

Maidenhead & District Open Show - 20th February 2010

At his final show as a puppy, Bhali wins Best Puppy in Breed, Tallulah and Koko win 2nd and 3rd behind him in puppy and in the junior class under breed judge Heidi Parsons. Bhali then wins the Hound Puppy Group under Mrs J A Ward, followed by Best Puppy in Show under the well known gundog judge Mrs Patsy Hollings. What a fantastic end to his puppy career! Thank you to all 3 judges!

Henley on Thames Open Show - 31st January 2010

Bhali wins 1st in Puppy & 1st in Junior, then Best of Breed AND Best Puppy. He then went on to win The Hound Group at only 11 months of age, followed by the Puppy Hound Group! Thank you to Breed Specialist judge Ms Charlotte Strickland. Sisters Koko and Tallulah win Best AV Hound Puppy and 2nd in the Puppy Stakes respectively. What a fantastic day!

Manchester Championship Show - 21st January 2010

A great start to 2010 for Kiromol! 5 class winners were Elvis offspring, including Tallulah winning Best Puppy Bitch and Bhali winning Best Dog Puppy .......AND the Reserve Dog CC at just 10 months old! A fantastic achievement! Bhali went on to beat his sister in the challenge and took Best Puppy in Breed too!

Luton 3 Day Premier Open Show - 28th to 30th December 2009

Bhali wins not only Best Puppy (again!) under breed judge Vanessa Henshall, but then wins the Puppy Hound Group followed by Best Puppy in Show under Jeff Horswell! A fantastic way to end 2009! Thank you to both judges.

November/December 2009

November came to a close with a bit of a worry when our dear Lola was taken poorly. She ended up having her spleen removed but is now fully recovered and seems to have found a new lease of life! She looks younger and fit and is enjoying her walks again on the golf course keeping her great grand daughter Talllulah in check!

28th November saw Tallulah win over brother Bhali to take Best Puppy at Reading & District and Charlotte & Nick's Bruce took Reserve Best of Breed. The next day saw Tallulah win Best Puppy again at the Hound Club of East Anglia.

December started off with our beautiful Bubble at long last being healthy enough to be spayed. This had to be done before her next imminent season otherwise the Vasculitis could well kick off again. She came home none the worse for yet another general anaesthetic and is now back with mum Lola and grand daughter Tallulah enjoying her walks.

12th December took us to the NEC and The LKA championship show. Having allowed Tallulah a little bit of slack at the previous shows, Bhali pulled out all the stops to win his first Puppy Dog class (as opposed to Minor Puppy) and went on to take Best Puppy in Breed. Tallulah won a 2nd in a very strong Puppy Bitch class with sister Koko taking 5th place so thanks must go to breed specialist judge Mrs Chris Nuttall for a fantastic day.

Elvis wins 3rd in Open Dog. Koko wins 1st in Minor Puppy Bitch, Tallulah wins 1st in Puppy Bitch, Dave’s sister Dolly win 3rd in Junior Bitch. Luca wins 3rd in Open Bitch and Delilah wins 1st in Veteran Bitch! Koko then wins Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Show! Kiromol Kennel then wins Stud Dog and Brood Bitch. At the Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Association’s AGM, Kiromol are awarded the Rose Bailey Memorial Trophy for ‘Breeder of the Year’ for the second year running!

We had a fantastic day at the Ridgeback Club of Great Britain Championship Show on Sunday 27th Sept!

Bhali wins Best Puppy in Show from the Minor Puppy Dog class, Elvis' sons Toki and Bruce win 1st in Junior Dog and 3rd in Yearling Dog respectively. Odin wins 1st in Limit Dog.  Tallulah then wins 1st in Minor Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy Bitch and therefore has another head to head with her brother who promptly beat her to the top spot!  This means so far Bhali has had 3 shows and 3 Best Puppy awards, Tallulah has had 4 shows winning 3 firsts and a second to Bhali!

11th September 2009 - Richmond Championship Show

What a fantastic day for the Kiromol hounds! Bhali wins 1st in Minor Puppy Dog then Best Puppy Dog, Bruce wins 1st in Yearling Dog, Archie wins 2nd in Post Graduate Dog, Tallulah wins 1st in Minor Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy Bitch. There was a head to head for the Best Puppy challenge and Bhali won – Go Bhali!

6th September 2009 - South Eastern Hound Club Open Show

It was a real party atmosphere as always at this show – gazebo’s picnics and a happy day spent with friends and their Ridgebacks. The Kiromol babies did well with Bhali taking 1st place, Tallulah taking 2nd and Koko taking 3rd in the puppy class under breed specialist judge Christine Young.

July & August 2009

The middle of Summer 2009 has been a mixed bag of ups and downs. July started well with Odin winning Limit Dog and the Reserve Dog CC at Windsor Championship Show under breed specialist judge Jenni Morris. Lola celebrated her 11th birthday with the rest of the pack and a big plate of cakes on the decking!

Tallulah’s brother Bhali came home to roost for 6 weeks whilst the Piehl family went back to Sweden for the Summer. He and Tallulah had the most fantastic summer and played for the whole time he was here.

The end of July brought extremely sad news for Charlotte Austin & Nick Houghton (Donasie) and for us. Their first Ridgeback Beau (Khaos’ brother) died very suddenly after a short but aggressive illness. He was only 2 ½. Thank you both Charlotte and Nick for giving Beau such a full, fun packed, wonderful life. It may have been short but he had the best of everything.

August saw Dodge leave Scotland for Ireland with Ally Muir to compete in the Munster Circuit. Dodge flew the Kiromol flag for us all by winning 3 Green Stars and 2 Reserves out of 6 shows. Well worth the trip! They returned to compete in Birmingham Championship Show where Dodge picked up the Reserve Dog CC. Birmingham was also Tallulah’s first show and she didn’t let us down either winning 1st in Minor Puppy Bitch and her sister Koko came 2nd which means both qualify for Crufts first time out!

Bubble is 7 years old today!

After 19 days in hospital, Bubble is home in time to celebrate with a big plate of sticky buns and the rest of the pack!

Although the scan might look as if she has a Care Bear waving at us, they are definitely puppies, sired by Elvis!
